It's not like 50k people will descend upon the city and start working at the moment the decision is made.
The requirement was 500k sq ft of immediately available office space. The SY proposal included the Cira Centre and the updated Bulletin Building for that need.

Immediately available office space? You'd need to have everything built before decision. There's no way that's right.

Maybe immediately was the wrong word. But they said they needed 500,000+ square feet ready to go in 2019. Since we won't know until 2018 where this is actually going, I can't imagine a building that doesn't exist yet or is not already under construction being ready by then.

Business Insider just reported Amazon sent lobbyist to Georgia ahead of the start of its legislative session next month. Article said this might be a hint that Amazon is interested in establishing its new headquarters there.

So, what will life after the Amazon HQ look like here in Philly?

Amazon lobbyists have registered in every state that is high on the contender list so too much shouldn't be read into that Atlanta thing...

We'll trade pretzels and mustard for avocado toast.

They changed one of the towers, they added another next to it but they both connect with a bridge a few stories tall

Sorely needed! I hope it really comes to fruition like that. The current bridges and transitions between Center City and University look pretty terrible and could use some serious help. I also really like that sidewalk paving as compared to traditional sidewalks and hope that is also implemented as rendered.

I love it. Great comprehensive plan. The complete street transformation of Market and JFK. The river front promenade along the Schuylkill Ave. and the water's edge greenery. Just great!

The trees in a box are just tacky.Just plant them flushed with the sidewalk and caged the trunk in decorative wrought iron if they need to be protected.

I took some photos of the Bulletin building a day ago. They're not the best quality because they're just quick shots taken with my phone. It seems Brandywine is gutting/redoing the interior already. Maybe since Spark signed on board they fast tracked it.

But Chicago isn't fortunate like we are to have it's States most traveled interstate running along side of it's river. Spending time down by the river is so much more enjoyable when we're 10' away from a highway and can't hear yourself think. I find it calming, relaxing.

The trees shown are in a "box" because they are on a platform and that's the only way for a tree to have any soil.

That section of 29th St. over the highway, between Market St. and Chestnut is presently being rebuilt by PennDOT. Does any one know if any changes are being built into the reconstruction?
