I count about 39-40 floors in the render, so maybe they are still undecided on floor-count.

Nice find. I don't see any permits for this yet.

It certainly looks like a dupe of the new Hyatt Centric right down the street, but as far as blue glass rectangles are concerned, I think it's fairly sleek. The good news is that it (like the Hyatt Centric as well) seems to cut out parking and huge event spaces entirely.

At first glance I thought there were some nice setbacks as the tower rises, but it looks to be just an illusion from the staggered lines.

Is there another building proposed on this stretch of Congress? I remember the historical landmark commission vetting a proposal for a residential tower that would incorporate the historic facades of some of the buildings… I remember specifically lots of discussion about setbacks. Does that ring a bell to anyone?

For those that don't know, that building has had some of Austin's most innovative (at the time late 2000s through mid 2010s) Dance/EDM clubs, the most well known of which was called Lanai (later Ethics). I've had some great times on that rooftop.

Awesome! Thanks for finding those! Looks like both are further south by a block or two.

This one will stick out quite a bit.

This is the first new major proposal in years, no? Maybe this is the start of a new wave of highrises.

Took me a minute to realize this was a new proposal. I had recognized the 422 number but I was confusing it with 422 At The Lake.

I spoke with a Marriott brand transition guy yesterday, and he mentioned that this is one of the projects they're working on. They may be behind on their city approvals, but they've come a long way with Marriott.

It would appear this building has no parking whatsoever. Also, if the renderings are accurate this should top out around 450'?
