The rest of the newsletter is boring broker rah-rah, but here's the link: http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-rea...th-troy-holme/

Edited to add: A link to CBRE's marketing flyer for Block 23 is here: http://looplink.natl.cbre.com/xNet/L...494141&LL=true
It truly is a beautiful design. This will certainly further enhance Austin's west skyline.

While Im glad this project is moving forward. This tower definitely has the potential to be a squatty massive block even more so than the colorado tower. I know they are maxing out the lot there but it bothers me in spite if the good design. I see a wall...

I agree to an extent. I like all of these buildings individually, but man the gluttony of 300-400 foot buildings makes me concerned about the skyline. The plus side is that this can be rectified later by larger towers when the city can support it that stick out above the 400 foot majority.

This tower could be much taller than it is planned. It doesn't even have to be half of the current design. A 3rd of the end could be taken off and added to the tower portion and that alone would put this tower into the 500 foot range.

Except going vertical is more expensive than going horizontal, especially when the land is available.

The final design is still being worked on. But previous renderings and released information have the height right around 400'. One has it at 388' I believe and another at 419'.

I was told by someone from the architecture firm that it would be 419 feet tall, but that was 2 years ago before some changes were made to the design.

The 388 foot height came from a stacking plan we saw in one of the presentation PDF packets that were listed with a bunch of renderings. Btw, these renderings were showing the old design for the project when they were still planning those large white residential towers with the funky windows. That 388 foot number, though, only showed the office tower to the flat part of the roof. At the time when we saw those heights, they hadn't shown that glass wedge above the main roof. So I think it will most likely be a bit taller than 419 feet.

We should know for sure once the building elevations are released in the site plan. It's still going through the approval process now.

November 24th is listed as the date for the start of construction in one of the attachments in that filing.

That Photos & Video "discussion" was almost a sub-forum killer; not just a thread killer. Anyway, work on the the 4th floor on the Cesar Chavez side of Green Water Residential #1 is underway.

Any chance they could add floors to this project since the demand seems to be there or is it too late?

I noticed today that the construction trailers at Green have been moved off the site where the office building is supposed to be built (south of Ballet Austin) to the block west of the current residential tower construction. Could be a sign that a November construction start date told to me a few months ago by a friend involved with the project is going to happen.
