work sent me to Poland for a day; thankfully i managed to get about 6 hours over two days to explore Warsaw a little. awesome city, i can't wait to get back. unfortunately i had to use my Nikon D70s since my D90 was damaged the week before
Battle-hardened. However, Poland has some of the most ambitious renovation/revitalization/renewal projects and schemes on the continent right now, so I have high hopes for Warszawa in the future. I need to take that Berlin-Warsaw train...it's only 6 hours.

Warsaw looks awesome. Bigger than I expected.

Definitely looks likes its still a work in process.
yeah. when i met up with my co-workers we were greeted with the welcome that "Poland is still under reconstruction." but the construction energy was good to experience.

Nice to see some old & newer gems among the commie blocks and drabness of the eastern block. That said, I did enjoy the tour. I was wondering if it's just me or is the countryside not too far from the central city. Appears that way in the aerial pics. Thanks for the tour L.

it's not too far out; it was maybe a 20-25 minute drive (with decent traffic) from the palace of culture and science going southwest. i was kind of surprised by the sprawl on the edges, it kind of reminded me of iraqi sprawl, but in a good way. maybe i'll put those pics up.
