Plans Filed For 80-Unit Residences at City Market in Shaw

"Roadside Development and Dantes Partners were awarded development rights for the 13,306 square-foot city-owned parcel at 1336 8th Street NW (map) over two years ago. Now, the team behind what will be known as the Residences at City Market has filed a planned-unit development for the site with the Zoning Commission.
Plans call for a LEED Gold-certified, 98 foot-tall building with 80 residential units, 1,240 square feet for the Church of the Immaculate Conception and 6,740 square feet of other uses, including potential space for a restaurant with sidewalk seating. Six of the residential units will be included in townhouses along 8th Street.
Excluding the townhouses, 30 percent of the housing will be earmarked as affordable; half for households earning up to 50 percent of area median income (AMI) and the other half for households earning up to 80 percent AMI..."
