98.5 FM in Montréal is the most listened to radio station in the country.
Paul Arcand is the host of the most listened to morning show in Canada.

The Beat 92.5 which is an English language pop music station in Montreal, has been saying all this week that the ratings show that they are the most-listened-to and popular radio station in Montreal.

Guess the francophone radio stations don't count for them - even if a whole bunch of the Frenchy stations have way more listeners!

Québécois entertainment stuff is often "tops" in Canada because of high buy-in from the population and also the fact that the entertainment market is less fragmented than in English Canada.

Most of the time if you count actual eyeballs watching the top 5 (or more) most watched "Canadian" TV shows in all of Canada are Québécois TV shows.

I haven't yet found a way to explain the sensation one gets living in St. John's that I describe as everyone living in each other's lap. You're just... closer than you'd like, really, with everyone.

An acquaintance from Colombia who lives in a rowhouse near the university just posted a status on Facebook complaining about the attached houses because the sound of her next-door neighbour's mobile vibrating but not getting answered is slowly driving her mad.

That works, I guess.

Wow, look at the Saguenay region, and also the Rouyn-Noranda and Val d'Or area way up there.

I read somewhere that Montreal is proportionately (relative to population), one of the brightest places from space at night on account of (1) ample lighting given low hydro electric rates and (2) snow covering the ground for 4-5 months, which reflects that light.
