If the tallest crane will be 130m high, does that mean the CHUM will be almost as tall?

Probably not.

Look at all those huge cranes down on the Glen yards, and that building will be 8 floors, right?

The zoning restrictions have been modified to let it rise at 85 meters. However, things that are not part of the roof will be higher.

More CHUM crane action. Its like if the MUHC came barging in downtown.

Anyone know if they plan on destroying this building? Its the one right west of the main CHUM building rene-Levesque?

It should be, according to the construction schedule, the southern part of the building housing the main hospital component will be up first, then they move the action from the existing building along R-L (including that part in your picture) demolish it, and build the rest of the new hospital, which will house offices and more treatement rooms

I know I've brought this up before, but I still can't believe that Bumbaru and Heritage Montreal are actively trying to save Viger square. I mean, have some sense of aesthetics.

Quote:
The feeling of public rejection felt from the very beginning of the redevelopment of Square Viger by artists is associated with disputes surrounding the expressway and facilities separated from other parts of the square, cut off from the street. This interfered with the completion of the original plans for Agora and, above all, its public use. The square’s urban environment is still inhospitable and dominated by traffic on streets serving the expressway. The lack of real activity in the sector makes it a poorly frequented area, associated with marginality and urban violence, two factors that now serve as a pretext justifying the indifference of the government and its desire to demolish it all without seeking to understand the significance of this site which, in 2009, offers great potential, since its trees have grown and new generations of artists and residents are discovering its possibilities. Agora is now threatened with demolition because of faults unfairly attributed to it.

Let's keep the trees if they've reach a point of maturity : it would be a shame to kill them if they can be saved but please let's get rid of the concrete.
