The two Spirit vessels will be off to Poland (45 days via Panama Canal) for mid-life refits starting in the fall of 2017. Apparently both Victoria and Vancouver shipyards to too busy to handle the work..which is good I guess. I do know that Seaspan Victoria has 4 large cruise ships (Princess) coming in during 2017 for major work - plus the federal shipbuilding contracts.
The ferry refits will cost $140 million and involve major upgrades to navigational and propulsion systems (dual fuel diesel/LNG) as well as upgraded passenger areas with a new designs, new washrooms and expanded gift shops and cafeterias.
