Atlantic Skylines

In the spirit of the thread in the Canada section, let's get some Atlantic Skylines and streetscapes going in here. I'll start by posting one picture of each CMA and CA in Atlantic Canada. Some I couldn't find good pictures for, and I didn't find any for Bay Roberts, NL (the smallest).

Please add upon this with your own photos and finds...other non-CA communities encouraged.

If credit is not given, that means the photo is my own.

^Moncton is a city which can benefit from a skyline because it is so flat. The communications tower, and the large church tower really add to it. I couldn't find that church in the database, but it seems to be an important feature.

Here is a rare zoomed in view of Corner Brook from across the Arm, which I took, which I think is kind of interesting. It makes it look like most of the city has dissapeared, and only shows predominantly the largest downtown buildings and the arena:

And another one of St. John's, also mine:

I love that view of St John's. It's like they planed the city in the most ideal post-card spot possible.

The Rooms always catches my eye. I'm not sure i if i like it, but it's certainly a distinctive looking building.

Beautiful shots! I want to go back to St Johns again sometime, one of best cities in Atlantic Canada if not all of Canada for sure!

As far as Moncton goes, the church in the Cathedral of the Assumption (official name is that in French)...its around 70m or so...if you wanted some more info on the "tall" buildings in moncton there is a list I made on wikipedia:

Could you get some more info on it and enter it in the Emporis/SSP databases, for purposes of diagram drawing? It might be the tallest church in Atlantic Canada, and I don't think it is listed there.

Food for thought, the Cathedral is three blocks the Assumption building. it's actually less than 6m shorter.

Sounds like it might beat the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in SJ which is over 70m, but I don't think by much.

Saint John used to be a major city in Canadian terms (i.e. about the same size as Toronto or larger), and up until fairly recently, maybe the 60s or 70s, would have been considered "medium-sized". Its core and its older buildings are definitely nicer than you would expect given its current size.

What I'd love to see is the NBCC be moved into a nice new modern building at the Coast Guard site much like the one in that picture that could hold the 6000 students that apply each year. Imagine that many ppl uptown every day...and the facilities...
