ALBUQUERQUE | Chant Tower | 30 Stories | PRO

I couldn't find any thread on this building, so I decided to create one. The Chant Tower is a proposed highrise building to be built at the corner of Jefferson and I-25 in Albuquerque. There is no height given for this building right now, but according to its developer, this building is to become the tallest building in the state of New Mexico, surpassing the 351-foot Albuquerque Plaza Office Tower (aka Bank of Albuquerque Building). This building is to have 30 stories, containing office space, a hotel, and a limited amount of retail space. This tower is to be completed by 2010.

No renderings yet (sorry).

This is exciting, I always wondered when a new tallest would appear in Albuquerque.

Yeah, I am very excited about this project. I think its about time a new tallest appear in Albuquerque myself. I actually live within a mile of where this project is located. It will look great from my apartment. I look forward to watching it rise. I hope it gets built.

Apparently there's at least one other one too that is supposed to be a new tallest.

I almost like the Packard Place proposal in the link above more than the Chant Tower proposal...at least Packard is proposed to be in the skyline!!! I think a loner tower just off the interstate will look a little shabby...get it some friends and a new "highrise neighborhood" like Phoenix has in spots and then I'll change my mind.

Great news for Albuquerque. It will look a little strange being built away from downtown.

Well, when this project was first proposed in mid May, the project's developer, Chris Chant of Chant Properties said that a year from that time, the building should be ready for construction, so I would say that construction could start by May or June of 2008.
