That makes sense given where you live in Eastern Ontario (Alexandria, I believe), but I've always thought the Brayons of NW NB, while not identical, leaned more to the Québécois side in terms of temperament.

I also find this is true of Acadians in NE NB around Caraquet and Tracadie, and also of Franco-Ontarians in the Hawkesbury area. They're fairly similar to Québécois in spite of not being exactly the same.

But most Franco-Ontarians in places like Sudbury, Timmins, Cornwall, etc. and even Acadians in SE NB around Moncton are more like the "anglo mentality while speaking French" that you describe.

After the last homicide on July 25th in Toronto it was very quiet for three weeks no murders and hardly any shootings but now since August 15th there have been 8 homicides and several shootings. 67 now for TO.

Busy week in Kitchener - the death of a woman in a house explosion is being treated as a homicide.

Police have arrested a 22-year old man in the death in June of a 66-year old man who was a twice-convicted sex offender.

I'm not sure, but I think that brings Waterloo Region to four or five this year.

It's a woman that I've seen around the neighbourhood, I believe she was homeless. This occurred behind the same bar where my uncle was murdered just over a decade ago.

Never would've thought we would hit 100. Still don't think we will if the weather cools down quick in November. The van attack inflates it obviously, but even anything above 70 seems insane.

Can't say I notice people feeling that alarmed in the city though.
