I think jackson, madison and adams are next if remembering correctly. But I thought they were doing two at once?

I hope it's two at a time. This should have been done 20 years ago.

You may be correct, I admittedly am just guessing.

I also second the idea that they need to beautify the greens that flank the highway in this section. I wouldn't be surprised if that is part of the plan with all of the shine on the West Loop and Randolph's moniker "Gateway to the West Loop"

Damn, I'm sad at the new design. A real bummer. More a case of loving the original design than hating this one but still.....

Actually I think that if you zoom in, the inverted windows are still there to some degree on the tower portion, but it's harder to notice in the redesign.

Overall I'm still fine with it and I think it will be a good addition to the West Loop, but the design (especially the base) has lost some of its original elegance and it make me nervous about Related's future projects.

Well yeah, won't disagree with you there, but I think everyone is tired of my grievances with Related so I just keep my comments as focused as possible on their projects these days

Awesome to hear this one is going ahead with almost its entire full height intact. I figured that WLCO wouldn't even touch this one, since it goes against their own mantra of keeping tall towers east of Halsted... although I wouldn't put it past them to hypocritically come out against this building.

So Related changed the design? At this point, it really should be expected from them. Although they didn't seem to alter (or VE if you prefer) the exterior all that much... I don't think the new redesign is all that bad. I do prefer the original however.

All in all, very exciting stuff! Anyone have any idea on when groundbreaking might be?

Curbed reported at the end of this article that work is expected to begin on this tower in "early 2019".

Is that legitimate?

That's when Related wants to start.

If that's how they do it, it'll be the best base in the West Loop by FAR

No. This has just gotten more and more basic with every revision. The proportions are less graceful and the windows just look like every other new faux-warehouse building in Chicago now.

The only thing you can say about it is that it’s not hideous - yet.

Don't worry, a few more rounds of VE and Related will get it there!

I don't think this is a revision, just a new rendering from a previously unseen angle
