Walking Downtown Boise on First Thursday:Art, Wine, People, Torsos, Hookahs, and more

A collection of pictures I took on Thursday night strolling around downtown Boise with a few friends. First Thursday is held every month in the evening to highlight the galleries, art, the retail stores, wine, and food. The temps were kind of cool, in the 50's, but we warmed up in the galleries with some wine and stopped by a coffee house. Taking pics in the galleries is a no-no, so there are no nude torsos to post

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

Boise looks surprisingly urban and vibrant....i guess that why real estate prices are on par with the rest of the big west coast cities....at least portland and seattle....

Your usually rock steady shots became a little fuzzy right after the Martini mix-off sign picture. Hmmm? But good work once again. I ride my bike around that area several times a week and I'm unfamiliar with half those places.

Looks like you were about half an hour in front of me last night. Also looks like you had a better experience, I mean dang, the Hula Hoop girls weren't even Hula-ing when I walked by twice. What gives man, what gives?

Wow! The best Boise set I think I've ever seen... it makes me want to move back to Idaho. Great job! Boise looks like such a cool city- kind of a dryer, smaller Portland in the making.

Very nice. My sister now calls Boise home, and on my visits there I've always been impressed by the amount of retail/overall vibrancy of the downtown area. It's not so active as Madison, WI (where I went to school, same size as Boise) but the amount of retail is on par - which is really saying something. The entertainment/retail options in Boise are more impressive than my hometown of Omaha. There is a bright future for Boise!

Never been to Boise, but it looks like it has a great downtown. It reminds me of a combination of Boulder and Portland. A few years ago I was in Livingston, Bozeman and Missoula and was very impressed with each of those places. Thanks for showing off this under-represented city!

You have done a really great job at capturing the "vibe" of Boise. It is too bad it was not warmer because more people would have been out.

Very nice, I still cant beleave that Boise got a Urban Outfitters downtown.. where is it? The Banner Bank building came out nice, last time I was in town the steal had just started going up.. it was mainly just the core. Christ its been a while.
