Absolutely.

I am glad that we have bigger companies in DTLA.
We will see what the future brings, but I am optimistic.

edit:

By the way.. the L.A. Times reported a 23% increase of homelessness.
It's a shame.

Peace out and a nice weekend to all of you.

It's like a ghost town if there's no event going on at LA Live. Honestly...who cares if the new design is better than the old
Well considering all of the hundreds of units under construction literally a block away in all directions, the loss of 200 units isn't the end of the world.

Lots of intelligent design going up in AD. Arts district is becoming the serious design antidote to a lot of the bland and mediocre parking podium architecture in South Park. I guess the hipsters are keeping the architects in check.

Elaborate. Is it changing it's name and adding those long rumored condo units on the top ten floors? Lol.

I don't know what specifically Steve is talking about, but a change in the name would normally be the result of the anchor tenant (obviously AON in this case) leaving the tower and another large tenant moving in or expanding.

Aon sold their benefits admin and HR divisions to Blackstone this morning, so if those two divisions made up the majority of operations in Los Angeles, it's reasonable to think that the name - or location of those offices - could change in the near future. I don't know what Aon's operations in LA consist of, so this is purely circumspect.

I don't know anything about condos being added. Interesting timing on the AON news that Colemonkee mentioned, wasn't aware of that deal closing but probably isn't coincidental.

I can say there will be a new name that you will recognize and it's a company moving into the space from another building downtown.

Interesting. Wonder if that'll affect the Aon Center here in Chicago? Ironically, both buildings had 3 different names.

Park 5th camera is online (I told you guys (after all those rumors and being in contact with MacFarlane Partners) that project is still alive / crane is going up).

Peace out brothers and sisters.

Was downtown over the weekend and they were pouring concrete foundation for Onni's 1212 Flower and two tower cranes are in place. Should start to see these two towers sprout up in the not too distant future.

Finally got a chance to go back to LA.

I was amazed at the amount of construction going on downtown, as well as the extent of the MetroRail system. Really cool stuff.

Anyhow, here is a picture of Oceanwide and Circa from yesterday:

I was in Downtown LA for a job interview with one of the firms doing the residential towers (you guys probably know who it is, it's a Canadian firm...) on Monday, anyway, the Mack Urban project now has some cladding on the base/podium when I drove past on the Olive side.
