A killer tour? 'Jeffrey Dahmer's Milwaukee' raises hackles

What do you guys think of this. Bad kinda thing to have a city tour on?
----
http://travel.usatoday.com/destinati...ckles/638888/1

In a move that gives new meaning to the term "dark tourism," a Milwaukee marketing group is set to launch 90-minute walking tours of the South Side bars where serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer met some of his 17 victims.

The $30 per person tours of the city's Walker's Point neighborhood start Saturday and were advertised earlier this week on Groupon, which offered a "once in a lifetime" deal (two tickets for $25) for a one-mile stroll through Dahmer's "hunting grounds."

Dahmer, a chocolate factory worker, visited gay bars in Walker's Point, now an emerging neighborhood that's home to revitalized shops and restaurants. Dahmer was arrested in 1991 and admitted to killing 17 young men and boys, some of whom he mutilated and cannibalized. He was serving life prison sentences when a fellow inmate beat him to death in 1994.

I've heard of killers (cannibals) like Albert Fish, and Frank Chiktolo, but out of all of them Dahmer had the creepiest crib.

Sad.

It's capitalism at its absolute worst. There's so much more to see in Milwaukee. Seriously, only soul-less individuals, in my opinion, would want to "tour" places like that, but to each his (or her) own. As I see it, people had their death marches from - and ultimate death at - those places. To charge $30 bucks or pay $30 bucks to tour where the victims were killed, mutilated and eaten? Instead of "getting off" on the thrill of the tour, they should think about the victims - particularly Konerak Sinthasomphone - who escaped Dahmer's death grip, only to be returned to Dahmer's sinister hands by the local police. I say....let those who are interested find those places on their own.

Unless this money goes to a psychiatric center or charity dealing with psych disorders, this tour is an affront to the 17 victims.

There's NOTHING entertaining about their deaths, in my opinion.

Milwaukee police is the stupidest in the U.S especially judging by the documentary. Yes Milwaukee is an awesome place, but it's plagued by this killer. But what's interesting is when I think of Mil, WI I don't think of Dahmer, and I'm sure many of the people on this forum don't either.

I don't either. When I think of Milwaukee I think of beer. Beer and Laverne & Shirley.
