Golf/homelessness can go (or get moved) to the general discussion thread where I've posted.

Citizens' Transportation Commission will hear a presentation Thursday about plans for a new RFP for Central Station. I was never overly pleased with the previously selected proposal. Will be interesting to see what type of submission they receive.

GOOD!

I was wondering when the old one would expire. This would be a great spot for a TALL tower hopefully we can get something 30+

The developer was reputable, but he died. His company didn't seem all that interested in doing business out here anyways.

Nothing about development but living downtown. Does anyone know what this horrible smell is that has been coming through downtown at night the past couple months. It smells like it does over by Tent City. It's really bad and it's like every night and only at night.

I used to notice a sewer smell every once in a while in the 90s and mid 2000s at night. Nothing since then though.

The dumpsters in the allys, would be my guess. More restaurants and bars... more trash! Honestly havent really noticed any smell beyond the Valley Bar allyway.

Unrelated... but went on a walk tonight and stumbled upon 15+ homeless sleeping in front of the Courthouse building on Monroe and 1st. Packed between the defnesive wall and the building itself, so not noticable from the street. Another 7-8 on Monroe between 1st and second...

all the above just on one corner!!!!

I hope Wood Partners submit a bid and call it Alta Transportation Center! Maybe Alliance could also submit one and call it Broadstone Transit Center!

Awesome new mural going up in the ally between Hilton and renaissance.

Trumpet mural. I spend a lot of time in New Orleans, and this very much reminds me of the murals throughout DT Nola!

Ill snap a pic of it later today.

A quick rundown of a few projects, most we're already aware of. Seeing the photo of Portrait on Hance gets me excited! Although I wish it were just a few stories taller (but not as tall) as Portland on the Park to the south.

Didn't realize they are spending $57 mill on Park Central. That's a ton!

I believe they PURCHASED the Park Central Mall for $57 Million. Dont think aren't spending $57 Million on renovations.

Ah, I assumed it was the value of the upcoming project. Richard + Bauer are expensive architects, but that makes more sense. Thanks.

Some news on the Banner University tower. As soon as the new tower is fully functional, the old tower will be gutted and leveled. They are looking at having it done by 2020. No word on what will go there, but for right now, parking.

Do you mean the tower with the portholes? I must say I'm fond of that building. It looks both futuristic and retro at the same time.

Yep, that one. Hopefully there is a future plan for another tower or something else besides a parking lot.

That's very disappointing, that building has been a landmark for me for a long time. I get it, though, it's obsolete.

Correct. Always the plan to tear down the original facility.

Good news is... another tower will be going up in it's place.
