Wink MIAMI | One Brickell CityCentre | 977 FT | 60 FLOORS

Swire purchased the 700 Brickell Ave adjacent to its U/C massive 7 tower Brickell CityCentre complex. They plan on adding this parcel to the complex and building a mix use 80-story tower and connecting it to the Brickell CityCentre complex. No word on the height yet.

Swire Properties plans an 80-story, mixed-use tower at the 700 Brickell Ave. site it purchased recently for $64 million.
The Arquitectonica-designed high-rise would serve as the entrance to the Brickell CityCentre project currently under construction on both sides of Miami Avenue, immediately west of the 700 Brickell site.
The tower, to be called One Brickell CityCentre, will include retail, Class A offices, condominium units, and a hotel with a restaurant and lounge, according to a statement released Friday. The plan also envisions grand plazas and retail shops connected to Brickell City Centre.
Upon its completion in 2015, Brickell CityCentre will comprise a luxury shopping center, two residential towers, the EAST Miami hotel by Swire Hotels, serviced apartments, a wellness center and Class A offices.
Swire Properties intends to work with the city of Miami to have One Brickell CityCentre approved as an extension of the existing Special Area Plan. The site is currently home to Northern Trust Bank, which had an interest in the sale of the property.
“In creating the vision for One Brickell City Centre, we are mindful of the legacy of the sellers of 700 Brickell Avenue, heirs of the pioneer Brickell family and Northern Trust Bank, a great corporate citizen,” Swire Properties President Stephen Owens said in a statement. “Our goal is to develop a structure that will be artful in its mix of uses and will advance Brickell Avenue’s stature as Miami’s premier destination.”
One Brickell CityCentre is a tower that, by its design and dramatic contours, creates views above the current Miami skyline,” Arquitectonica principal Bernardo Fort-Brescia said in a statement. “With sightlines that stretch from land to sea, the building’s glow will act as a welcoming lantern for downtown Miami and a portal to Brickell from all approaches.”
Owens told the Business Journal in August that Swire may hold off on developing the site until after the Brickell CityCentre project is complete.

A love the usual trippy looking Arquitectonica designs. From the renderings i'd guesstimate 850'.

I love that notch on the upper floors. Its amazing how such a simple design can break the monotony of a typical box shaped structure.

This should also add more depth to the Miami skyline.

Mabye its just the rendering but it reminds me of the Citigroup Center. Not the top portion but the rest of the tower. It just, somewhat brings the thought of the Citigroup Center.

It's really hard to say how tall this will be since it will be a mixed used tower instead of a office building. If it were just an office building it would be over 900 feet but I think there are height restrictions in the area since the Four Seasons down the street was supposed to be 850 feet to but was cutdown to 794 feet.
Either way great news for Miami!

Swire is submitting a height of 1102 feet to the FAA for approval (1111 feet above sea level). Lets see if the FAA cuts off less than 102 feet.

Anyway to change the thread title?

^ To do what? Add in the new height? Since you started the thread can't you edit your own post or will a Mod have to do it?
Anyways this is incredible news if the FAA allows that height!

I would love how the tallest building in the city would be more centrally located between downtown and the taller buildings on the
south part of Brickell…

So this will be phase 3 of City Center I suppose. I wonder which one will break ground first OBCC or OBP (if either ever do)?

For a reference point the light brown areas in the background to the left & right of the tower are the runways for Miami Int'l. Airport hence the FAA height limits.

It would be the second stage of the enormous — and now-under-construction — Brickell City Centre just to the west. That project will include a luxury shopping center, two residential towers, apartments, offices, and a wellness center, featuring an innovative $20 million "climate ribbon" that will provide air flow, according to Curbed Miami.

Like the mixed-use monstrosity next door, the new tower is being designed by Arquitectonica. Steven Owens, Swire's president, said in a release: "The site is of great strategic importance for the development of Brickell CityCentre because it provides the project with a critical front door onto Miami's most significant boulevard.''

Whether it will be tall enough to withstand the flood created by global warming remains to be seen.

Renderings suggest HSBC could be a tenant at 1 BCC

The possible tenant? HSBC Bank. In multiple renderings, the HSBC logo is clearly visible atop the proposed tower.

HSBC and Swire both have deep roots in Hong Kong. HSBC provided $140m in financing for the first phase of Brickell City Centre construction, and HSBC has partnered with Swire to finance other projects in China. Additionaly, HSBC recently signed to occupy 43% of the office space at Taikoo Hui, a project similar to Brickell City Centre that Swire built in Guangzhou.

HSBC currently leases space at the Four Seasons Tower. The Brickell location is one of only two HSBC Private Bank International offices in the U.S. (the other is in New York).
