Work has begun on the twinning of highway 107 between Burnside and Lake Loon.
According to the 2022 plan, the first phase of the project will extend from exit 13 to an area near Barry's Run creek, adjacent to the Parks of Port Wallis development, although there's no access to Port Wallis in this part of the plan.

District 6 Councillor Tony Mancini reports lots of complaints about the destruction of trees at the Waverley Road access to the Lake Charles Trail, which is essentially underneath the 107. He says city staff only just became aware of the situation, and the province will be constructing a new access, hopefully with improved parking. When that might happen is unclear. NS Power also recently installed new poles along this part of Waverley Road to raise their lines above the new twinned section.
