I think for awhile we were in a division with most of those teams anyway. The NHL Jets' first playoff series was vs. the Blues in 1982. The only thing is that if they're talking about one home and away against each non-conference team, and all the rest of the games being in conference, that would mean only 6 home and 6 road games against Canadian teams all year. We'd be almost unknown to the rest of the country.

I like it because then i don't have to start watching Jets road games starting at 9:30 at night. Having two young kids, i don't have the stamina anymore to stay up to 12:30 or 1:00 am on a school night. I happen to love all of these east division games for TV watching - finish dinner and plunk-er down on the couch for a hockey game.

......of course i am only thinking selfishly of myself here.

I like the late games because I can plunk myself down after I put the kids to bed (1 and 2 years old).

I think you got a better deal ...

NHL opts for four conferences

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hocke...ent/51663386/1

East 1: New York Rangers, New York Islanders, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Carolina and Washington

East II: Florida, Tampa, Montreal, Toronto, Buffalo, Ottawa and Boston.

Central: Columbus, Detroit, Winnipeg, Nashville, Dallas, Minnesota, St. Louis and Chicago

West: Phoenix, Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Jose, Vancouver, Colorado, Edmonton and Calgary

I'm happy with it!

Two Original 6 clubs, plus Minny? What's not to like. Having the Western Canadian clubs with us would have been nice, but sharing a division with the 3 California clubs would have been ludicrous. Loving the new alignment. Nashville has some top talent, and some Manitoba kids (Wilson, Tootoo... Pickard, but he seems to be a bit of a bust). Columbus I is just meh, but Dallas will be fine. Exposure in a big American market, plus we get to see the likes of Jamie Benn and Louie Erickson. Life ain't bad right now.

GO JETS GO!

I agree. We will develop some pretty intense rivalries with Chicago and Minny. It just means that we will have to beat out Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver to get to the Cup in the semi finals. And we get to beat Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City to win it all.

Go JETS Go

The time to beat the Bruins is now! The Jets had 2 days rest. The Bruins played a physical game last night and this will be their 3rd game in 4 days, they might be a little tired. This is an opportune time to beat them! Go Jets Go!

Jets beat Bruins 2-1, ending there what seems to be never-ending winning streak!

This team is quickly becoming the real deal

Yeah, especially when we're talking about the Stanley Cup champions. This is a big deal, and another, yet very big morale booster for the Jets!

We're looking good right now! 9th in the conference, 2nd in the division... this is awesome!

Just got back from this one.

Awesome game. It got LOUD in the 3rd period. Loudest I have experienced there since the pre-season home opener.

Lots of Bruins fans there too. There were actually audible cheers when they scored their one greasy goal.

Detroit and Chicago will be a lock for the next few years to come. Columbus is also out for the forseeable future

So its a 5 horse race between us, Nashville, Dallas, Minnesota and St. Louis for those two playoff spots.

Well, you have to beat the best to be the best. I remember when both Detroit and Chicago sucked big time. Hopefully in a few years Winnipeg can be one of those teams that others will be saying - "well Winnipeg and Chicago are locks for a playoff spot...."

Jets down the Canes 4-2, keeping up a 4 game winning streak.

The highlight of the night was the cleavage behind the Canes bench

We'll be in tough against the Wings tomorrow.

Nice, never before did I want to hear about Kirk Muller so much in my life annndddd pan back to the bench. That camera man must have been all smiles.

this run is quite impressive we are sitting in 9th spot 1 point out of the playofff spots. I have the good fortune to see Minnesota on Tuesday and then probably one of the loudest ovations we will hear this year on Saturday when Mr. Selanne hits the ice.

I'll be at that game Saturday. My first NHL game in 8 years and my first Jets game ever. Must say I'm excited.

I certainly will. I believe I'm staying at the hotel connected to it.

Anyone know how easy it'll be to get a jersey on game day?
