A beauty of a building and an expensive looking hotel. This would be the tallest "all hotel" building in the world. When does construction begin anybody?

The two renderings seem to have a different top.
And the first one looks more slender, too.
Which one is more realistic ?

OK.
We should expect an asymmetrical spire then, right ?

Wow. Thing is huge. Diggin' the design too. You guys should post more construction threads over here. That way us lazy people don't have to go over to SSC to get all the updates.

Personally I'm not a fan. It just looks goofy. Colors, patterns, forms, proportions... everything is goofy. I honestly don't understand what the architects that have designed a lot of those buildings along Sheikh Zayed Road are thinking. Maybe its a culture thing or just personal preference.

I'm continually amazed at the growth in and around Dubai, so in that case I've got tons of respect, but I could really care less for the architectural styling.

BTW, that thing is gonna sway like crazy. Super-tall with a very small footprint. Yikes.

Those construction workers look East Indian.

The design ain't bad. The colours are a bit early 90's, and the roof is...perplexing, but it should be a nice building. I just hate it when they make a rendering where the windows look more like blue wals than windows.

I like it but it is very phallic. Was this tower designed by an under-sexed lady?

I like the design it looks futuristic and very Dubai. I like how Dubai is creating its own personal style in architecture instead of copycatting western style architecture.

^That's true for the most part, but I find a lot of buildings in Dubai look like they're from Miami.

I liked the first version of the crown better. The one with the spire in the middle. Looks a lot better.
