Some updates. The photo shows Darya Suites, 299 Innovation Drive, and The Dynasty. Additionally there is now a sign up advertising Waterberry Park on Kearney Lake Road.

That street will not be pleasing to the eye. To me the different buildings don't compliment each other at all.

Cool! That should mean the work on Kearney Lake Rd is nearly done as well. Atleast where it meets with Larry Uteck.

Kearney Lake Road right now is a s!*$show to say the least. There's active construction from Highway 102 all the way to Hammonds Plains. Hamshaw to Larry Uteck is closed and there's two reversing lane construction sites for the rest of the road. It will look a hundred times better next year but for now it is best avoided. The nice thing about Larry Uteck Blvd West is it will deter traffic from taking the lake front section and instead dump it on the underutilised Highway 102.

As of today the curbs are being poured on both Waterberry Park entrances, work is continuing on the Cascades Park entrance (Abbington Avenue), blasting is underway on Broad Street, and the widening of Kearney Lake Road is almost complete near the dam.

There is a crawler crane on site at the cul-de-sac road at the Larry Uteck interchange.

Wow, another year? I'm glad I don't travel that way very often but I will have to drive on the new section of Larry Uteck just to see it.

I suppose widening the road makes sense, with all that they're planning over the next 25 years.

Just a heads up everyone to avoid confusion in the future. Due to the alignment of the Kearney Lake/Larry Uteck intersection the northern section of Kearney Lake has been renamed to Larry Uteck Boulevard.

A couple new photos of West Bedford will be available on The Halifax Developments Blog today. All photos from this area are tagged with #westbedford

Regional Council essentially approved the transfer of 118 units out of Sub-Area 9 (Hogan Court) over to Bedford South (off Starboard). Hogan Court will now only have two buildings instead of three.

Additionally West Bedford Holdings is looking to transfer 80 units from Sub-Area 8 (adjacent Blue Mountain) to Amesbury Gate in Sub-Area 5 (Waterberry Park). This will allow increased heights to two buildings there. Amesbury Gate I will be 5 floors instead of 4 and Amesbury Gate V will be 9 floors instead of 6.

There's a development agreement application underway for four new residential buildings on Innovation Drive. Three will be across from the future bus terminal (8-12 stories) and one will be near Hammonds Plains Road (6 stories).

Case 20384 Details

A gas station and small office building have opened up along Gary Martin Drive and you can now drive down Broad Street from Gary Martin to Larry Uteck. The 200 On Broad is underway along with three buildings in along Amesbury Gate. Site prep has begun for four buildings in Cascades and Waterberry Parks. Hogan Court is open to traffic though it currently only has a small park on it.

There's a good half a dozen apartment buildings going up in West Bedford along Amesbury Gate, Abbington Ave, Broad Street, and Innovation Drive. Kearney Lake Plaza is well underway and Broad Street in Cascades Park is almost open. The Luxor West shown below is on Amesbury Gate;

As much as I don't really care about suburban Halifax, you have to admit the quality of these is certainly a lot better than the Clayton Park specials from just a few years ago.

That looks pretty decent! Layout seems uber suburban, but the design and materials look good.
