It seems much of the Georgian era was quite austere, stark and extremely understated, as opposed to the Victorian that followed.
Not even a Roman column, a single Renaissance statue or any bloody Gothic rose window to it. lol
Perhaps it was a foretaste of overly brutal modernism ferociously scorned in this thread? Who knows?
