I am so glad we are preserving our older buildings in the CBD. Thanks for the updated pics tennis1400.

Also, the tentative date for the VA to open is this January. One of our friends works in the HR department there, and that is what he told me.

Looking forward to the airport announcement next week.

So I passed by the future site of the Deep South Studios project on the Westbank and noticed they were clearing a great deal of land towards the back of the property. The last that I heard they were still working to secure the funding. I'll take pictures when I can, but any info on that?

Whats the status with the new cruise ship terminal in the Bywater? I saw the last few seconds of a news story and could only read the title before it switched to the next topic

Here's a video rendering of The Kalorama--apparently the name of 700 Magazine. Embedding didn't seem to work, but here's the link:

Love this building. Whats the name mean? very different.

Im guessing it refers to the historic district of the same name in DC.

It's Greek. Kalorama means "beautiful view".

In a way, it reminds me of the old French Opera House.

Great looking building.

The video makes the balcony look very deep. I wonder if that's accurate?

Controversial investor behind World Trade Center Four Seasons lawsuit resigns

Quote:
The controversial leader of a company suing to block a Four Seasons hotel development at the former World Trade Center has resigned, and the company's lawyers no longer want to to be involved in the case, attorneys said in court Thursday (Oct. 13).

Now, the question is who will emerge to continue Two Canal Street Investors' lawsuit, which has kept a proposed $360 million renovation of the city-owned riverfront tower into a Four Seasons on hold for 1 1/2 years.

Orleans Civil District Judge Tiffany Chase scheduled a hearing for Oct. 20 on the Davillier Law Group's request to withdraw as attorneys for Two Canal Street Investors.

I wonder if the lawsuit will be thrown out now that Fisher has resigned from the company. I sure hope so, the sooner they can get the 4 Seasons started the better.

I am so glad to see Fisher out of the picture. The case will likely be dropped, and the Four Seasons can finally begin construction.

Also, the wait for the airline announcement feels like forever. I really wish that article hadn't been written now, and we had a nice surprise next week.
