I think I caught a glimpse of the hole from the bus on my way to work yesterday, and it looks like they have another level almost done, closer to grade...

They are really working hard to (hopefully) get this thing above grade before winter. There must have been 25 workers down in the hole when I walked by. It's gonna be close, but I think they may be able to do it! Mobile shot from today:

I saw on my commute to work this morning that they are starting to build the forms for the ground floor of EDC today...

LOL!

On another note, as of this morning it looked like they already have some of the forms in the middle going up to the 2nd floor already...

I've been away for a little while, and it's great to see this building is above grade, and by the looks of it, almost ready to hit the 3rd floor, judging by this morning's webcam shot...

It may not be tall, but I agree that our downtown is quite dense. EDC is probably the best quality project in our recent history, but there's much more on the horizon. This google satellite view shows just how dense it is an 90% of the open spaces in this shot have proposals in the works or construction started already.

The ones that I can think of:

-Claridge towers at Metcalfe and Lisgar (former portrait gallery site)

-Fancy Ashcroft condo/hotel on Sparks street (see Canlands A development)

-Standard LIfe Phase III at Bank and Slater

-Ottawa Convention Centre (not really adding to the density but awesome nonetheless)

-Soho Lisgar at Bank and Lisgar

-199 Slater (aka Telus part II)

-150 Elgin (pretty stale though)

-265 Laurier (BMO part II)

Am I missing any?
