Are blenz franchises actually profitable or produce good cash flow? They seem to be a dime a dozen and frankly IMO aren't very good.

The sushi place states they are closed temporarily for kitchen renos, now if they reopen or not is anyone's guess though.

Chipolte Grill is working on their new store at Metrotown. It is located in the mall just by the bridge to the Skytrain station. It goes A&W, Chipolte Grill in old eagle orthodontics location, Starbucks then the mall entrance doors.

Still a bunch of work to do, walls weren't drywalled yet this week.

The Blenz originally stated it was closed for renos as well.

Raincity Grill, a pioneering locavore spot before the word was coined, was shuttered last week. C Restaurant, one of Canada’s most famous seafood restaurants, closed last month. Both businesses were sold to Viaggio Hospitality (owners of Cibo, Uva and the Waldorf Hotel, among others), which plans to renovate and reopen them with new concepts and names.

There has been work of some sort going on at the old mansion on Davie and Nicola. Not sure if this is still going to be a keg. Anyone know?

That's too bad, I really liked Raincity Grill. But the fact they were grouponing heavily should have been a clue.

On another note, Cafe Artigianno has opened a large and kinda sterile space in the Bluetree condo building at Main & King Ed.

Groupon spells the end for any restaurant IMO. A last hope for a cash infusion.

I had brunch once at raincity really hoping it would be good and it wasn't, never went back.

The ramen place has been open since spring, it's already closed for renos once in the meantime. Seems busy enough but not sure how long it'll be in business, the hours seem less then reliable.

Space in kerrisdale is getting pretty pricey, wouldn't be suprised if that sat empty for a while as well because its a massive space and not in the right part of the street.
