Yeah, I need to get XP 64bit as well. I have triple channel memory (6gigs), but 32bit XP only handles 2.32gigs.. blah.
I am also building the WTC 1 tower, and an entire city. It's crazy hard... just sculpting land, roads and sidewalks is a pain.. over a million polys, and only 1/3 of the city is complete. May have to split up the 3DSMAX scene into separate files to add the WTC.
(They sure are moving quick on the glass! Hope to see more next week!)
You know, I've always been of the opinion that you don't go doing work that's already been done, unless you're going to totally blow it out of the water.
That's more another tease of what I'm doing, than what you are BTW.
Some of you people seem to have a problem identifying the topic of this thread. This thread is specifically for the Freedom Tower/1 World Trade Center construction. That's it. Take your off topic debates and commentary elsewhere.
Further, if you wish to debate the whole spire/roof height thing again for what is likely the hundreth time, there was yet another thread created for that. Have at it... http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=183533

Assuming you are talking parapet height, it depends on which side you measure from.
From Fulton it's 1368, from the north (Vesey) side, which has a lower elevation, it's 1,373.
The north entrance has stairs in the lobby to make up the difference.
Now, some photos from yesterday (Nove 18, 2010), but first a quick clip of where we stand now...

30. Still trying to get a feel for the glass, and how it plays off its surroundings..

What's this? Nothing. Move along, it's clearly not ready. It looks nothing like the second image, and it took so much work to hack it down that far just to render. Have to wait until Monday or so for my new RAM to arrive.
wait i dont understand, I thought the solid roof was at 1335 and the parapet was 1362 -1368 to mark the height of the orginal towers, where did the extra 5 feet come from?
I can't believe I need to buy more RAM. Oh well, I always planned to when I went 64-bit. The awesomeness just doesn't work well with only 2GB. Going to have to pull my laptop apart to upgrade. ####ing Dell...
OMG, you are doing all of this on a laptop !
BTW, wait a little longer for winders 7. I put 7 64bit on my new system and get BSOD's about 5 times a week.

Yes, it's a laptop, but it was the last generation of Inspiron notebooks built with gaming in mind. Basically, an Alienware without the pricetag and horridly tacky detailing and ugly logos everywhere. I've actually been using win7 since day zero, since I got an awesome preorder discount ($40?). Just never had a need to up the ram to take advantage until now. My PC starts to chug at around a million polygons, and this Manhattan model (because it's the WHOLE ISLAND) is 3.5 million.
As for your bluescreens, that's a driver issue, I'd bet money on it. I reinstalled on a clean drive and pet Windows handle all the drivers except for the video card, and a couple it didn't have in its database. Haven't had a single bluescreen, except on the rare occasion I overheat the thing.

If you scroll up, your question was already answered. No need to keep repeating it.
