It more or less appears to be a point tower. I had envisioned it being wider, but it's shaping up to appear pretty skinny.

It does look much wider from the side (east or west). I was absolutely thinking it was going to be wider and heavier in the view but I feel like once it gets some shape to the tower and they add the exterior it will make a much larger impact. I actually like that its narrow i think it would be cool to have a lot of tall but slender towers being the strong influence on a skyline. If we could add more like this it would make it almost look like the city was bigger directly downtown than it is.

Looks like we will be seeing glass soon. Some panels arrived today, you can see them in the second level of the tower.

Anybody have any information on the 45 degree cables on the right side of this picture? The cables span from the top of a column and terminate into the slab appearing to support the cantilever? Is this temporary or is that finished product? Seems odd

I would think the angled cables are part of the curing and stabilization of the posts that were used to support the floors while the concrete cured.

I also think in prior pics the big blue steel thing on the ground floor was also part of the curing of the concrete support, all temporary I bet.

Tension bars. They're on the cantilevered sides for additional support, and will appear in final product. You can see them in some of the interior renderings.

I'm predicting this will top out the first half of January, 2018.

I noticed yesterday going east on Cesar Chavez from Mopac, it appears
to have about the same "girth" as The Spring. I thought it would've been wider also.

I'm fairly certain this isn't widely known, but heard recently that the entire exposed area above the parking parage will be covered with solar panels.

They're working on the 20th floor, so it's about 1/3 of the way up.

The skyline from that view is just crazy...when I moved here 5 years ago, it was hardly anything.

When will we see the first zig or zag or whatever you might call it as this building assumes shape?

I think it's level 24 - almost there.

They haven't beaten 8 days for any one floor and with three shifts in the building and at least 2 more crane raises to go, I think it will be closer to the end of March or early April of 2018 before they reach the 58th floor and that doesn't count the mechanical roof section. I think top out happens at the end of April 2018.

It must have been quite the sight to see the capitol building go up. I bet all the towns folk came out for that.
