Look at that! It blends in so well, it's already beginning to fade from my awareness. Hah. Good god, about time we forget about this nearly decade long embarrassment.

It didn't turn out too badly! Sure the tower should have been twice as tall...To think this is probably one of the last prime new development spots in this area of the Chicago River.

The LaSalle Wacker building took a panoramic hit with the loss of the setback that Waterview had provided for.

I like the reflection from 77 W Wacker on it. Gives it a.......Burberry feel.

Great shots!

I really like how the (former) R.R. Donnelley building's 'library shelves' reflect off the side of 111. That contextual visual element helps the appearance of both buildings and solidifies the outward look of the wall.

If I remember right, there was no setback in the Waterview Tower design from the Wacker side. It would have obscured the LaSalle Wacker building as well.

Nice. All that's left is the lower base section to be clad, and the memories of the abandoned stump will be forgotten, replaced with a gleaming new tower!

Love this this shot, Markh9!

My only real disappointment at this point is that it doesn't match the height of its neighbors to the east. Oh well...

Can't that pretty much be said about all minimalist buildings?

Much agreed. This tower on its own isn't supremely valuable visually, but its color, mass, and scale helps augment the whole Wacker wall as a complete impression. I've never found an individual building of the set that overly stimulating, but the synergy of them all is really wonderful. My biggest gripe with Waterview was that it would disrupt that vibe.
