The Heights lofts on Maxwell Blvd hits the midpoint of construction and will be ready by the end of summer. 250 lofts will add to the downtown residential scene.

This link has several photos if you haven't been able to see the construction.

Two trampoline parks coming soon

Rockin Jump and Launch Trampoline Park are coming soon.

Rockin Jump will takeover the former Brunos in the Atlanta Crossing shopping center across from Eastdale Mall on Atl Hwy. It is a national chain. The shopping center will be revitalized and more stores are coming soon.

Launch Trampoline Park will be on Twain Curve near the Blvd and Wares Ferry Rd exit not far from Rockin Jump.

They will each have some differences to set them apart.

Now we don't have to drive to Birmingham to jump around.

Eastern Boulevard is increasing more investment projects. The Stratford Square shopping center is 100% occupied. The city rezoned it so the owner can have a lot less parking to make room for 50,000 sq. ft. of new retail space.

Cupcakes by Tish is moving to a new outparcel building in the shopping center with two other stores next to Starbucks.

A furniture store near the Stratford Square center is undergoing a renovation to create a new upscale furniture store. Profits were up 35% over last year.

Then the Rockin Jump trampoline park is underway at the Atlanta Crossing Shopping Center.

“I think anybody that looks at the boulevard can see that it’s not dead,” Martin said.

New justice center

It’s been talked about for four or five years, but after a groundbreaking in early August, the new Montgomery Justice Center is becoming a reality. The $5 million project will replace the current Municipal Court building inside the Montgomery Police Department. That building on North Ripley Avenue was built in the late 1950s; has one courtroom and 7,000 to 8,000 square feet of space.

The new Justice Center ... an art deco style, will have two courtrooms and room for a third in 12,000 to 13,000 square feet of space. It is located across from Cramton Bowl and Montgomery Curb Market and adjacent to a vacant building, which is being gutted and renovated. The existing building will have about 13,000 square feet for court administrative staff ... There will be parking spaces behind the building for 65 to 70 vehicles.

The city bought the Justice Center property for $1 from the Alabama Department of Revenue.

The Montgomery Industrial Park has been designated as an AT&T Fiber Ready certified park and an AdvantageSite designation. The only one in the state to have both designations.

Industrial Partners will build a $4.2 million 160,000 sq ft building to lure a business for warehousing, manufacturing or distribution use. It can be expanded to 320,000. There is enough demand for this size building. Right now there is a shortage of 100,000+ size building.

The city is pursuing tech jobs to fill the park. The AT&T designation will help lure those jobs to the area.

Got word that Auburn's Prevail Union Coffee will be opening a downtown location in the next few days. Never been there yet but this is great news for those living in and near downtown.

A new hotel to open in 2017

A new Staybridge Hotel will open next year at the current site of the skatepark across from the convention center. This will allow Montgomery to attract more conventions. More hotels will be on the way. This is a $12.5 million project with 118 rooms.

There are plans to relocate the skatepark to another site downtown.
