i've also been told that senses will re-open. i sure hope it's true, that joint had the best pain au chocolat i ever found in vancouver.

man, we ought to start some sort of campaign to widen the sidewalks along these key streets. the street just doesn't give this baby the love it deserves.

I love this project. And the more I read and see about it, the more impressed I become. The interior depictions look great.

It's definitely my favourite current development in the city.

That pool looks so nice. I wonder if office people get to use it!

Does Avison Young do a lot of commercial real estate in Vancouver? I know they are quite involved in Calgary.

The club section of the Saddledome is named after them

They have been ramping up here in Vancouver. Making a fair amount of hires and pushing to be a lot more competitive. Avison wants to be up there with the Cushman, CBRE and Colliers and they have all noticed.

It'll be a lot more boring taking pics across or upwards.

Looks like the first of the residential floors is about to be poured.
Is the floorplate different than the original render?
Not sure about the two columns in the southeast corner - they probably just haven't laid the boards down yet.

Pic by me today:

Not sure what's happening at te transition - compare to pic from first page of the thread:

Where pricesly is the difference?

Is the difference in the lack of glass plating (in this model) or in the may the new building joins the original hotel? I'm not contradicting you in any way, but I am really curious what you are perceiving here.

(And I'll bet a few others are, too)

On the south side (facing the old hotel), the southwest corner of the office floors allign with the residential above (that looks the same).
But in the render, a middle section of the office floors look to extend farther south (than the corner), which doesn't seem to be the case as constructed (maybe the office and residential closer to the corner was extended to the south a bit)

On the Howe side in the construction pic it looks like the residential is set back from the office. In the render it looks like it is a continuous wall straight up (or at least with minimal setback)

Edit - In the pic posted by Hed Kandi above, it does look like there is a setback.

Yes, thank you. I see it now. I hope it will not detract from the sleekness of the original design.

I think I count about 38 floors from the top of the hotel. Should top
out this summer or fall.

These have been the slowest floors though, as they were either underground or tied into the adjacent building. As well the site was constrained on all sides, now with an open side to the south work will progress much faster.
