Fredericton, NB

This is the last of 4 threads from my summer vacation.
CB Part 1: Scenery, villages, and a taste of Sydney
CB Part 2: Sydney - the heart of the CBRM
Stellarton, NS

All photos my own.

Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick, located inland approximately 100km by road from the Bay of Fundy in the St. John River Valley. It is also approximately the same distance by road from Halifax as Sydney is.

Nice tour! Thanks for sharing.

I see Fredericton as a pretty city. I´d like to visit it.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

BMO used the same cladding in Freddy as they did here.

I LOVE Fredericton. It was my favourite city in New Brunswick - not as impressive as Saint John but more alive. And it can support a fairly urban lifestyle for such a small population. Fantastic little city.

Thanks all. From an amateur hobby photographer's standpoint, the trip was more missed opportunities due to timing, unfortunately, than actually getting out there with a camera. That said, I'm glad I got at least this much done, which is much more than I managed last year. It was nice to get some relaxing time in Freddy Beach, though this was about the only time I got. Word of advice, never let your in-laws think you're handy when you want a real vacation.

Thanks Surreal.

It was great being in Fredericton again, despite my history with the place. I just wish I could've covered Saint John, Antigonish, New Glasgow, and Truro when we were in those towns.

I went through Fredericton about 5 years ago. Seemed like a really pleasant little city.

Love it! Looks like a nice sized city, and I was planning on running the marathon there last spring. I think I will run it in 2014. Trying to figure out whether the best route from Toronto is the train, bus or flight...can you recommend any good hostels to stay at there that have a good reputation?

Don't know much about the hostel scene, though there are a couple to choose from iirc.

Train from Toronto to either Miramichi or Moncton (then bus from there) would give the best scenery, though it's a very long ride. I would suggest booking a plane ticket early to try to luck into a reasonable price, or watch for seat sales. It's about a 2 to 2.5 hr flight from Toronto to Fredericton.

Thanks all for the comments.
