Has anybody seen this project before? I'm trying to figure out exactly where it is and the best I can come up with is a site inside I-10/90 and west of S St Mary's.

Great work, Aiphanes! Those of us who are currently far, far away from SA really appreciate these visual updates.

Looks like they're drilling holes for columns to the right of the Tesoro building. That could mean we'll be seeing another crane soon!

Yep it also looks like Crane number 2 is about to go up. Remember Tesoro is two towers I believe...

Actually San Antonio has two uptowns...and maybe even 3...

410/281

IH10/410

And now 1604\281 (Tesoro campus)

If you have not been to the stone oak area...the medical section of stone oak is quite impressive...I will get you guys some nice pics of the buildings there...some are at least 10 stories tall...but the Tesoro will be 14 stories and will stand out...hopefully they will get more....maybe even some 20 to 25 story residental high rises in the inner stone oak area.

But you are right it is nothing like Dallas and Houston near downtown areas...

I think we will see more residental highrises around the vidorra area...they will probably expand to the east of the vidorra area since the land is cheap in that area. If only a NFL team can get into the Alamodome...this will make that area even more hot...

Actually, I think you're leaving out the one that most SAians would consider the real uptown, which is the Trinity/Brackenridge/UIW area. Unlike those other three areas, which are mostly just suburban office development, the T/B/U area has cultural, educational, and social attractions. It is a true live/work/play area, with the zoo, two universities, two museums, Central Market, a 20-story condo u/c, and SA's premier urban park.

Actually anything inside Loop 410 is urban.....almost everything inside of loop 410 is older than 40 years....

But actually StoneOak (The So) is now urban...it is totally self contained...two Hospitals....3 HEBs...with one being a HEB Plus...Lowes..Home Depot...Walmart...Cosco...2 Super Targets...many doctors offices...and resturants...luxury apartment complexes...houses...hotels...clubs...bars.....movie theatres....and now highrise office spaces (Tesoro)

In other words it is a uptown urban center...sure there is no univeristy...but UTSA is only 7 miles away...

The Trinity/Brackenridge/UIW area can only dream of what The SO is today..

All The SO needs is a art district and its done.

Actually people are moving as far north as Highway 46 off of 281...now that is suburban....

Stone Oak is about as uptown as The Woodlands. The Broadway/Hildebrand area has much more going on than Stone Oak.

I agree, SO is quite nice, and will be even nicer in a few years when it gets more built up, but its really just SA's version of The Woodlands or Collin County.

Aiphanes, had that crane in the med center just gone up, or was there already a substantial amount of construction under it? If its the one I'm thinking of (off of Floyd Curl Dr), then I think its been there awhile. Should be a couple more cranes going up there soon, though.
