Honolulu Panorama Mania

A few choice views of this urban oasis in the middle of the Pacific - some of them, particularly the last one, are absolutely enormous.

Honolulu from Tantalus Dr looking south

The backside of Waikiki and Ala Wai canal looking west

Dead Art

Opposite direction looking east toward the heart of Waikiki/Ala Moana and the start of the Ala Wai canal from the top of the Ala Moana hotel

SE view toward the heart of town from Makiki district (where I will reside shortly)

ChilledFresh

View north of downtown Honolulu from the Aloha Tower. I'm working on the 15th floor of the white twin building at left.

jndx

View north of the main hotel row on Waikiki beach from out at sea. Imposing view of the Koolau mountains from that angle. The Trump hotel under construction has since been completed.

rowjimmy76

Dusk view of several Honolulu neighborhoods from Tantalus Dr with Waikiki and Ala Moana skylines framing the city. From L to R can see University of Hawai'i campus, Kaimuki district, Mo'ili'ili and McCully neighborhoods. Manoa valley suburb in immediate foreground.

boydbrooks999

Massive panorama of nearly the entire city from Diamond Head/Waikiki to Ala Moana to Downtown to the HNL airport/Kalihi industrial area and US Navy yards beyond. Small cluster of midrises right of the airport is the Salt Lake district. Can even make out some of the distant suburbs on the Ewa side of the island behind the airport.

I don't remember this thread. But it is fantastic.

I loved seeing the reef runway in one of the panoramas. That's my favorite runway to land or take off on.
