GLOBAL SUPERTALLS | Supertall Compilation From Every Country

Global Supertall Compilation

Objective:

1) As SSP does not have a master compilation of every supertall around the world, this serves as a reference and database of supertalls spanning world.

2) Will cover buildings 984 ft / 300 m+ Globally

3) More emphasis outside of the U.S..

4) Will include generals news relating to supertalls, elements of the design process, proposals, u/c status, and so on.

Last Updated: 4/25/16

For City Specific Supertalls:

1) Hunsers New York Supertalls
2) Shenzhen Projects and Developments

How it Will Work:

1) These couple of first posts will serve as the list for supertalls so in the future, lets say U.A.E. adds a supertall to its complete list, I will update post #2, as its the master list for that country and/or a region.

Likewise for the U.S., which will be in post #3.

2) Direction of the thread:

A) U.A.E. Master List (Completed, U/C, Proposed)
B) U.S.A. Master List (....)
C) Europe Master List (....)
D) China (This will take a while, so be patient.

[...]

3) After A- [...] are finished, the thread will serve as:

A) Updates relating to the design process
B) Construction Photos
C) Multimedia relating to projects

4) Titles will go as followed:

A) _____ W | X | Y* | Z*

Where "W" = Country Name
Where "X" = Project Name
Where "Y" = Height
Where "Z" = Floors

* If not Data is available, it will just be "FT" and "FLOORS"

This way, guests and members alike can know exactly what they are seeing.

Discussion:

1) Please feel free to discuss or make comments.

Feedback:

1) If you want to tell me its shit or an idea improvement on the thread, any ideas, ect.. Criticism is always welcomed. This applies for the other compilations in my signature.

And so it Begins...

♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊ ♊

Note: Will do the completed for now, and for the other master lists, then will go to proposed, then U/C. Will make a memo once it's finished.

Post Reserved for a joint Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia and Bangkok.

Due to the limited nature of supertalls there.

Yup I will add it. I'll actually make a section for it right next to the U.S., so U.S. and Canada.

Yup will add it. Was just working on U.A.E.. I'll do U.S. section next.

Thread update 2:

1) Just finished U.A.E. section. Will add height/floors later on.
2) Also, for the first page (first post), what I will do is add links to segregate each individual post. So if one wants to look at just U.S.A. without scrolling, it will be a link to the individual post for easy access.

Appreciate the feedback and feel free to comment some more. It helps, as I admit, I forgot about Canada.

Thread Update 3:

1) Added Central and South America Supertalls

2) If somebody could name some Canada supertalls, it would help. I tend to not follow the Canada forum.

3) Will work on U/C section of U.S. and later proposals as it takes longer.

Edit:

1) Finished U.S. supertalls u/c

2) Fixed the first post, and added a new image to the front.

Canada currently has 3 supertall proposals, all in Toronto.

1. One Bloor West (329m)

2. Mirvish+Gehry Toronto (304m)

3. One Yonge Street (303m)
(no render available, only line drawings)

With Skyrise, its questionable if its considered a supertall status. It does have multi-purpose uses such as a restaurant, nightclub, some office space, and conference room, and an observation deck. It is over 300m and/or greater than 984 Feet. If enough people don't want it on the list, I'll remove it. But I could also add the CN Tower as a trade off. I'll think about it, but for Miami, I think its closer to a functioning tower and thus a supertall.

But I'd be interested in hearing more feedback regarding Skyrise.

US proposed, Europe proposed, and the beginning of the China section will be up by this weekend. Still doing research. China is nuts, just nuts.

Also will add height/floor data to most of the projects listed by this weekend. I will also update some of the photos/renderings. Some I'm not happy with, so in essence, I will try to reduce the size of some, to make it an easier browsing experience. Will also add Canada too.

Saturday Thread Update:

1) For Saturday, what was done:

A) Finished all of the U.S. and did all of Europe and Malaysia. Last two are completely new.

B) Added titles to all of the projects (except India, will do tomorrow)

1B) Note: For some projects, I left the title with no rendering as either renderings aren't available or proper info is not revealed. Some are in the NYC supertalls.

C) The first page just got a lot bigger.

D) If I'm missing some for those sections or my figures are off, let me know. Accuracy is important for me.

I'm just a bit confused that some of the ones on the lists don't reach 984 feet.

Which ones? I will change them if they are outdated. Some of the info was a couple of months old, and with supertalls, they tend to vary. One day they are over a 1000 feet, another they are half the size.

On compilation:

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I've covered almost every country except China.

What I will do for China is on a city bases. Given the large amount of supertalls there, it would be a clusterfuck if I put every proposed, u/c, approved, ect. on one post so instead, on a city basis.

What this will do is make it easy to see the projects, and make it neater.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Current Status for now (finished):

1) All U.S. supertalls
2) All European supertalls including Russia (europe/asia)
3) South America
4) Malaysia
5) Canada (see post #20 :: Thanks "Insertnamehere" for the data

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Added today:

1) Hong Kong (SAR)
2) Will add Shanghai in the next 30 minutes.

Feedback?

Feel free to respond or add data. Remember, this is a compilation which can include discussion on all global supertalls.
