Hey! just sell the land to the Seneca indians. They have this area bulldozed in a week and your skyscraper will be up in 18 months or less. Didn't take them long to get the casino up in running in Buffalo. Seems to be the only entity able to get anything done around here.

Good for Buffalo. It definitely needs many projects like this in order to create a financial and economical as well as a skyline and a prestige backbone for larger projects that would follow. There is future for development of this post-industrial city in America's current service-based economy. The city's location, for instance, is conveniently located between NE America's economic powerhouses such as Toronto, Montreal, New York, New England and the Great Lakes region.

Seems like they are a hell~of~alot more zelous in Buffalo though. Suprisingly, these old geezers are more sucessful in blocking shit there. That one 4 story hotel in Allentown area would have never been blocked in Indy. I think a little more $$mulla$$ needs to change hands down state, so that new laws get passed that over~ride the interest of these old folks. The reason they cause so much trouble, is because they vote in larger numbers that the rest of the population, and these judges get scared into making rediculous rulings.

What hotel was blocked in Allentown?....You mean the Elmwood hotel? That was blocked by deed restrictions.

As for Indy...well maybe they do need to block a few more projects IMHO

Sure, it sounds better, but too many want to lower the Hieght. I sure don't want to see that happen.

Nice looking building -- hope its built -- I know Rochester is jealous -- Buffalo looks like its turning the corner while Rochester sputters.

Well Buffalo's big industries went out in the 80's and Rochester's are going out now. They'll both bottom out and head back up as their respective economies retool. I think this building is a sign of better days ahead for Buffalo.

Buffalo and Rochester are like two brothers in the same household. That hoousehold being WNY. If good things happen for Buffalo, it's just a matter of time before Rochester begins to pick up too. Buffalo is the largest city in WNY, it only makes sense that if a "natural" economic recovery takes place, it starts in Buffalo. By natural, I mean a recovery not sparked by any infusion, but a rebound after the city has bottomed out. Rochester has not hit bottom IMO, and probably won't sense Buffalo appears to be rebounding. Call me a dreamer, but I expect to see some expantion of Rochester companies in the next few years.

I'm with ya there Mr. Rochester. Looks like Spitzer is another stooge. Although in Rochester you'd never know it with the way the D & C is. How can you stand it?

Why do you say Spitzer "is another stooge"? Do you think he's been in office long enough to make a clear judgment? I don't know much about him, so fill me in.

What I want to know is when NYS laws will be changed to allow anexation and other "city-saving"
measures.
