Interesting post Pegger5. This sounds like the same info that TV and I have heard regarding the Coyotes and not the Thrashers. Nice to see you have restored optimism and if this does not pan out I'm sure no one will jump all over your post

So basically, to everybody on here, I am sure no one is maliciously posting empty promises. We for the most part would like this team to come back and this should be a safe place to post our info/rumours to this topic.

Go Jets Go

I still think that you will have to "hang tight", as someone else puts it. I don't think that we will be hearing this supposed "announcement" for awhile yet. It will likely be after the Yotes are finished for the season.

Having said that, I hope I'm wrong and that it's sooner.

It would be super nice if these rumors would just die already... It's really hard having to watch people get their hopes up only to have them destroyed days later..

But it's a great past time, especially in Winnipeg!! Build up hope, then get it destroyed within a week.

Yep, thats about where it fell apart. Its the same concept as what was going on with the Thrasers, only the team moving changed. So, I wonder if sometime in the next couple weeks it'll be the Tampa Bay Lightning moving north to Winnipeg? They were having some ownership problems, not sure if that ever got resolved or not.

I would bet, that if Winnipeg gets a team for next year, you would see Selanne play one final season and sign with the Winnipeg team so he could finish his career full circle. I have read that Winnipeg has a special spot with him.

^ Why stop there, bring back Nikolai Ivanovich Khabibulin (if he can stay sober), Shane Doan, and Keith Tkachuk heck even bring back Teppo Numminen with a heart transplant he should be okay, Steen's kid Alex could even play here, he was born in Winnipeg.

I'm pretty sure I noticed over the weekend that Shane Doan is currently the Coyotes' 2nd leading scorer.

Because Selanne is looking to retire and symbolically i could see it happening. The other bums, you can keep them. I personally can't stand Tkachuk and wish he would retire.

I've been wondering when he was going to jump in and start coaching an NHL team.
