I never get tired of the updates! many many thanks!

from a far perspective, the burj looks like an autentic huge beautiful monster! it is so high that I can not understand why the world news dont say nothing about it, (at least in America, the continent! remember is a continent not a country!) here in Mexico nobody knows about this tower, even in my university (Im studing architecture) nobody knows nothing about the tower!
anyway....
I have 2 questions for all u...

The huge building next to the burj dubai is gonna be the biggest mall in the world?????

and... what's the population in Dubai? including the "floating population"

Cheers!

I do not know which building you are talking about. But yes, the largest mall in the world will be adjacent to the Burj Dubai. It is called the Dubai Mall. It is not very tall, but it takes up a lot of space.

If you are talking about the high-rises, one of them is called the Dubai Mall Hotel, and the other is called the Burj Dubai Lake Hotel & Serviced Apartments.

I hope that answered your questions.

I wish somebody would take pictures of this building in an artistic way like black and white, using certain angles, etc...

Anyways this tower looks like a rendering on the first shot provided by Imre on post 1064.

Even in German and Europe with some near industrialized countries none is commented about the tower. Only once when surpassed the Taipei 101 was very fast in television spreading news. The giant whale A380 is much more commented. It is a question of none european or america investors have something relationed to Dubai. So none is related. IT is much more known the hotel Burj Al Arab or the bullshit ski station.
As it is a tower for local population and investiments in Dubai, only in mid east is very about talked.
Anyway, it seems SSP is a much better architecture course for you than your university...

I thinks we should blame it on developers because if I built the tallest man made structure ever I would be advertising it on all 7 continents on Earth not just in one region...
