NYC // October is GOLD

October is easily the best looking month for not only New York City but also Boston (lived there for 10 years so I can attest) and for all I know probably everywhere else along the Northeast coast -- you get so many days of perfectly clear blue skies and strong golden yellow light. It also helps that I'm out and about in the evenings when I can capture the light moving into golden hour. But yeah... these days I'm all about dat lite, and now I only drag out my camera if it's looking like it'll be halfway decent lighting out.

Case in point

Tree sweaters?

Candy corn cones?!

Halloween morning, a quick trip to Hudson Yards

I wish every month looked like this! The light is almost Southern California-esque, and that's a very good thing in my book

I agree. Fall is the best season along the northeast corridor! Cool nights, warmish sunny days.

Good pictures.

I was just up in New York in mid October and I concur it's definitely the best month! I didn't want to get back on that train and head home to DC (though DC in October is pretty nice as well). Great photos!!

Lovely pics and I completely agree with you about October, one of my favorite months for many reasons.

New York City is appreciated, in photos and for short-term visit. Unless having enough money, say US$300m as starter.

Wonderful photos! Because of our warm Autumn so far November is shaping up to be spectacular. We have yet to see peak color in Central Park.

^ Agreed. It's too bad we've gotten some heavy rainfall lately that have taken a lot of leaves off the trees already, or things would look even better.
