Exclamation July 26, 11a--Bike Tour

Hey all,

Kevin From TX and I are putting together a DT bike tour of all that's happening in what may be, or is quickly becoming, the greatest urban development boom of Austin's 176 years of life.

Meet us at 11am (by Cisco's), at Comal and 6th (next to the Arnold Oil development) with a bike and a smile and let's see the town.

There is an Austin B-Cycle station by Saltillo Station (5th and Comal) in case anyone wants to check out a bike and dock it throughout the trip.

If someone has a sec to post pics of some the amazing projects we'll see on this tour you would rock.

Endeavor/Capital Metro project; Fairmont, Millennium (eh...), 70 Rainey; WCC's pretend building (I'm kidding, I really hope it happens); the amazing Green Water TP development; The Independent, ("hello love"), Seaholm ("an insurance company instead of all retail!?!); then to the North! 8th and Nueces, UT.

See you all then. Msg Kevin or me if you have any Q's.

Cheers to a walkable Austin.

.

I'd totally be in if it weren't for the 25 or so hours of travel needed to get there. You guys have fun!

Same for me. It'd take 20 hours of driving.

I'd go if it was any other season but Summer, dead of Summer no less. It's likely going to be 100 on Sunday and I burn even with sun block on so no thanks. If another forum meet is planned for Autumn or Winter, I'm down.

2 things:

1. I go to church on Sundays.
2. I don't ride bikes.

I hope y'all have a great time. Take lots of pics (trespass if you must).

Sunday 11am

It's on for tomorrow! Let's keep it at the same place/time so as not to confuse or miss anyone who may have already saved the original details.

11am; 6th and Comal; bring a bike or a credit card for a b-cycle--prolly good to bring water too.

Call me if you need me: 512.426.1041

Bah! I got a flat, guys. I didn't even make it across the Congress bridge before my tire went flat. So I improvised and went up in the JW Marriott and Westin Hotels for the views before I called for a ride home. I really need to start riding with a spare tube, pump and tools. Ugh.

Thank you Greg for leading this. Hopefully we can do this again to see more progress and possibly get some bigwigs in on it.

It was fun--happy that you all came out and rode. Sorry you missed it, Kevin. We'll set something up in the fall with Austin Gets Around via their FB page (and announce it here) with more people and some of the folks helping to make these great projects happen.

Thanks for the pics, Keith.

There were six of us, and then one who flatted before embarking.
