Portland Panoramics

I am starting this thread for panoramics of Portland. Consider how fast the page will load when you choose to post multiple photos. You might wish to link to photos that only a few will be interested in while displaying the key photos. Just a thought.

Note:
1. I took these photos that comprise this image at 17:43 on Mon 18Feb08.
2. I used autostitch to create the panoramic.

3. I post photos at All You Can Upload which serves photos quickly. Though it is necessary to keep track of your photos.

4. If you cannot afford to purchase photoshop. You might try Gimp. That is what I use when I am away from home w/ my laptop. It runs on Linux and Windows

Willamete, River front, Downtown skyline

You can see the Post Office land, the 937, and the Casey on the Right hand side of the panoramic. I don't know if you will be able to see the semi cylinder roof of the MAC club in the lower resolution photos that I have posted. Also, look for the Ross Island bridge and two cranes that are visible above the buildings. The crane on the left must be the 3720 crane because you can see the top floors. I never would have guessed that it was the 3720 if the Ladd or Cyan were at that stage. Tell me if you think that the left crane is indeed for the 3720.
NOTE: See tight crop of panoramic below in order to see crane and structure details. Not visible in lower resolution panoramics that I posted.

I generated this panoramic after generating HDR (high dynamic range) with tone compression using HDRsoft's Photomatix Basic software. I used a 10 mega pixel Canon Xti DSLR w/ a wide angle lens.

Inset of panoramic for viewing cranes and structure relative to Ross Island bridge
1615x588

NOTE: I took the photos that were used to create these images on Sun XXMar08.

hella sweet Castillonis! The 360 panos you've posted are a HUGE asset to this site. Thanks.

Oh, I'm pretty sure that is the 3720 crane. The Alexan isn't tall enough for it to be that. And, it is too far to the left from the Cyan site on 4th.

Thanks, 3720 not Alexan

Mark thanks for the correction. It is the 3720 and not the Alexan.

The cup of coffee on the ground of the 360 virtual panoramic is from this Cafe Via Delizia which is on the SW corner of Tanner Creek park. There is a tree and side of a stone building inside of the cafe that fits Portland well. I didn't notice it at first because I was so busy thinking about what I was going to shoot. I came back to grab a bite to eat before shooting the night time panoramic of the park which I will post soon.

NOTE: I took the photos and created the 360 tours that are posted on Sunday 11May08.

It seems like the restaurants in the Pearl are turning over a lot. Hopefully that settles down a bit as the district matures. Or, maybe the trendy district in Portland will always be evolving to meet the current trends?

Castillonis...I swear, I'm gonna jack your play lists if I ever figure out how to hack into a computer...another great pano! Can't wait to see the night one.

I'm surprised the OHSU rent-a-cops didn't kick you off. How long do one of these panos take? The Kohler Pavilion is STUNNING, it hasn't received nearly enough acknowledgment for the truly great Portland building it is.
