If the models of Comcast Center and CITC are to scale, it makes it look like Comcast Center is the supertall, eventhough on paper with the technical data, the CITC is taller. However, it does look like CITC will be bulkier but it thins out on the hotel portion of it.

That was a bad angle. Without question CITC will be bulkier, more girth (ha ha).

I honestly didnt realize that the roof was lower until now. Oh well, you cant win them all. With all teh demans comcast has for space I do wonder why they didnt just add 5 floors to this building. No office building in Philly has more than 61 floors which is a shame.

The Federal Aviation Administration has finally approved the 80-story height of One Brickell City Centre, which is now set to become one of the tallest buildings in the country.

Federal officials granted the authority for developer Swire Properties to build up to a height of 1,040 feet above ground level, or 1,049 feet above sea level. After studying the proposal for 20 months, the agency decided that it wouldn’t pose a threat to air traffic.

The referenced wed link to the article is a bit misleading. The technical height of CITC is 1121 feet. One Brickell City Center is 1040 ft. We will still be the tallest outside of NYC and Chicago.

Still 81 feet shorter than CITC which sits at 1,121 feet tall. This will also be shorter than LA's new Wilshire Grand Tower which will sit at 1,100 feet tall and San Francisco's Salesforce Tower which will sit at 1,070 feet tall. So not sure where the article is getting this claim from.

They are using roof height to make that claim:

Tallest buildings under construction in the U.S. outside of New York:

Salesforce Tower, San Francisco (992 feet to roof)
Wilshire Grand Tower, Los Angeles (934 feet to roof)
Comcast Innovation and Technology Center, Philadelphia (911 feet to roof)

Is this an updated rendering? The top section for the hotel looks shorter and slightly angled. And I don't see the cooling towers. I actually like this design better though.

It's an opinion, does it really matter? I must go into detail to justify my opinion without being attacked? it's simply how I feel.

I dislike the proportions, the large setbacks, the incredibly large spire and it's overall just not pleasing to my eye, if other people like it then fine, I don't really care, but I'm not going into a fit of insults because I disagree with you.

The ballroom at the top is pretty kick-ass, but other than that it just doesn't do it for me.

I enjoy that it will be very different. The diagonal bracing, black glass, steel, the sharp lines -- I see something similar in newer buildings in Asia and Europe -- not so many here. It's different.
