Does anyone know if Vista will still have a South facing bar/lobby area with same type of look as the North facing one (massive angled columns)? I remembered seeing a rendering of this a good while back. Link to rendering photo below

^ I think the rendering answers your question. It will be a stunner but the real question is how much will be open to the public

I only asked because the elevated lobby was apparent on the north facing full building renderings but wasnt on the south facing full. Assuming it is still planned this next construction floor level is where we will see it.

OK, this is what I heard about the glass:

Awhile ago, the whole team along with Jeanne flew to somewhere in Europe to select the colors for the glass. They all had a great time and selected however many shades of custom-colored greens for the glass and returned home.

The problem was, it turned out that the manufacturer of the custom-colored glass were showing them iron-free samples. (Iron-free glass can produce remarkably clear material, free of any of the natural green tint seen in regular glass). Well, all of the selected colors had to be jettisoned, because there was no way they could afford to clad this project in iron-free glass.

So, most likely due to the green tint that is inherent in 'regular' glass, they had to move the spectrum to the gray/blues to achieve the desired aesthetic.

So to all you engineer's out there can Gems start digging right away or do they have to wait for Vista to get to a certain height. Apologize if this has been discussed before.

Take Michigan to Wacker - then E on Wacker - can't miss it. For the more adventuresome lower E Wacker offers a different perspective.

GEMS would be digging its own caissons on its own property. Only a property-line excavation or slurry wall would be affected by work next door. In any case, Vista's foundations are now complete.

I'd think the best views of construction are from the Park at Lake Shore East, since the sun would be at your back. Walk down from Randolph, or cut through the Mariano's.

I was referring more to the small amount of space and amount of machinery traffic on lower lower wacker between these two projects.

Does anyone know why Vista is listed as shorter than Aon in the diagrams whereas I believe it is taller in every height criteria? 1186 ft vs 1136 ft respectively.

It doesn't show up as being shorter to me. The only thing I can guess is that you were searching by pinnacle height, in which case the diagrams count a small antenna that was installed on Aon Center in 2009.
