I feel sorry for that Water Tower Place..Not healthy looking!
And FCP might have had new pieces of marble grafted in to replace the most worn tiles. Something needs to be done, that poor tower looks like it's been rolled in the dirt!

Isn't the WTP being repaired as we speak? It's been surrounded by scaffolding for awhile now.

God, I hope so. The facade looks dangeously unstable and Water Tower Place is a high profile tower.

Maybe its most famous resident will chip in: OPRAH

It's even worse up near the top of the structure.
Marble and limestone are seriously affected by air pollution, particularly acid rain. It'll eat right through it...

Wow! Who thought putting tiles on a sky high building was a good idea?

If they need to replace the skin, I hope they use something nice like granite..aluminum seems kinda cheap by comparison.
And yes, FCP and Aon are related
The Reichmann brothers (builders of FCP) liked the look of Aon and wanted something similar for Toronto.
The Chrysler Building used copious amounts of exterior alumininum (spire and window mullions). I don't think that building is cheap looking by anybody's standards.

all of this looks like a multi-million dollar lawsuit waiting to happen.

The Water Tower Place facade really surprised me. It's been a while since I was on Michigan Ave.

it's true that t-dot needs a new tallest.
scotiabank could so easily have been taller by just adding a couple of stories when it was built in the 80s but no dice.
it seems like after th c-n tower, no one felt the need to build super-tall here.
originally the trump tower was supposed to be 325 metres to the top of the spire.
but i just looked and it has shrunk to 281.
what the hell?
plus the trump tower will be practically hidden among the other 250+ers.

Nothing wrong with Chrysler- the shiny aluminum looks good on that art deco facade. But on FCP, it would not look right at all..if they need to do a replacement, I would go for granite, myself.
