Only 26 days until the pre-season starts. Vancouver will play 2 games in China with the Kings. That should be interesting to see how the Chinese treat the game. I wonder who they will cheer on more, Vancouver, or L.A?

This is where they will be playing.

Vancouver & LA were in China last season.

Boston & Calgary are the teams this season.

But it's preseason. What matters is that the regular season starts in 43 days.

And the kids are back in school in 14 sleeps.

This was posted by the Score providing some insight into the hiring process for the Leafs most recent round of new recruits.

Everything I've seen from Dubas so far leaves me impressed. The transition from an old boys club appears to be well underway across the league. Fresh takes and a forward thinking approach as teams look to remain competitive in the long-term. Hopefully this also puts to rest some of the ridiculous commentary I saw regarding the hiring of Hayley Wickenheiser.

Jets sign their captain and Hart Trophy contender Blake Wheeler to an extension today further solidifying their lineup for the forseeable future.

Expensive contract for when he turns 33, but one that any gm in that situation is happy to provide. Wheeler seems like the heart and soul of the Jets.

Must be nice. The average Leaf ticket price is $368.60. So that would cost me $2948.80 here.

Here's hoping the Flames sort out their Jekyll and Hyde record this year, and play good both on the road and at home. They have a deep team, not sure about the coach at all, and goaltending will still be an issue is Smith gets hurt, but they should be able to make the playoffs this season!

Jesus, betting odds are a form of prediction. Both are just speculations.

This is almost identical to where my seats are for the jets, and cost (for me, its a quarter share of two seats).

That gets me pairs of tickets for 10 games plus one preseason.

Explain how the Leafs keep getting first spot ? Like seriously. Jets and Nashville are top two. Lightening as well. But the Leafs? They never even held first place in the entire nhl. The others did. They didn’t make it past the first round. The rest did and even past second round. Yet the leafs are first lmfao.

But is this the year for the oilers not to suck? I think it’s anothe year of suckage. Hope the flames got stuff figured out. They did well imo last season for what they had.

Only once in the last 10 seasons (and 6 times in the last 25 seasons) has a team that finished 1st in the league standings won the cup. So if anything, that might make a teams odds worse.

Vegas has never made the playoffs, let alone won a playoff game, and they went all the way to the finals. Past performance isn't always an indicator of future performance.

Canucks pegged second last on that list, which is fine as we need a few more high calibre draft picks. We are due for a #1 pick.

Just looking at the NHL Network Top 50 prospects, the Canucks have 2 players in the top 10, Pettersson (3), and Quinn Hughes (9). Overall we have 4 players in the top 50. After his 2nd NCAA season this year, Hughes will likely be in the top 3 on next years list.

It's gonna be a losing season, but lots to look forward to.

Odds are based on betting patterns. Toronto is the largest NHL market and will likely always have the most hometown fans betting on the team to win the cup. As more people bet on the leafs to win, the bookmakers have to lower the odds on the chance the Leafs actually do win and go they bankrupt paying out bets at worse odds.

Someone could go bet $10 million right now on the Leafs to win, and even though the "prediction" hasn't changed, the bookie would have to adjust his odds based on the expected loss of his portfolio.
