^ These last 2 are great! I can't help quoting the couple of towers seen from the very medieval alleys.

That's hot and definitely unique, even in Europe. In fact, I'm confident in this city, it's got some serious assets.

Nice. Sweet pano up there of the skyline. This building suits the city, I think.

Yes and no. I think the curtainwall could have blended into the historic environment a tad more with some external features such as Brise Soleil, or a diagonal banding of sorts.

There'll be more and more tall buildings over that district anyway. Eventually, that building will end up feeling random. It's been said earlier, the major change by French habits is its layout. Instead of being stuck in awkward and cold empty surroundings like they used to do over here in the post-war era, this is just simply embedded along a street to the fabric around, in a more American fashion like it would be almost regular already. That's what makes it better.

Tour Incity is nearing completion. Pictures taken last Tuesday by Minato Ku.

And on Wednesday by Villeman:

^ Nice shots from Minato. More details from villeman on SCC, it's close to completion.

There's a whole half of a side of it still uncladded because of both the crane and the external elevator to take materials up there.

BTW, the Lyon is moody and might steal the French soccer league title from Paris this season, huh. Hell... That's life, I guess.

Lol of course, I basically don't give a damn and I'm looking forward to more high-rises over their business district anyway. Some mixed-use, please, if possible...

SSC's villeman shot it in various weather conditions. Showing his pictures side by side is better in this case. Scroll horizontally if needed.

The glass looks thick like the tower is double-skinned to 3 sides of it. So it doesn't match the most fashionable and transparent materials sometimes featured in London or in North America, which I find remarkably nice looking, myself, but it doesn't necessarily mean it would be mediocre or even particularly cheap either. Today's French standards just promote effective functionality more than shiny aspects, so its energy and cost efficiency rating might be pretty interesting. Besides, it still looks ok, adding value to the district anyway.

Tour Incity is now complete (major construction work ended, full antenna installed, crane removed). Here are a few pictures taken in the past month.

For comparison, this is the render we had before construction (red caption mine). So, looks resembling?

Here compared to downtown Cincinnati, for an idea of size:

It was 99% finished when I was in Lyon this past May.

First, no matter how exciting it tries to be, the tune you posted sounds lower-end. And still, they can sing some pretty interesting ones in French.

Second and above that, I can't really get the point of comparing Lyon to Cincinnati yet. I mean, Lyon, "capital of the Gauls" was founded so damn long ago that I can't tell exactly when. Sometime before Christ... And you can easily tell by its urban fabric.

Oh, and that Eva outline still seems far from actually standing. I think a couple of more moderately tall highrises will seat there first, so the skyline looks less awkward.

I like this picture a lot.

Not so much for the towers, actually. It's mostly that it shows in the foreground how to build a fine contemporary street.
