Such a missed opportunity to clad this with something interesting. Instead we get clear glass and grey drab spandrel

Just realized - there's no crossbracing as shown in the video, is there?

Hoiping that the parkade screens add some colour.

Does anyone know what ended up happening to the developer to this project? Did he end up getting deported or did he manage to get refugee status here

From GBL twitter Jan 14th:

Panelling looks great! (but could have been more colourful)
Looks like a perforated panel system.

Great progress at International Trade Centre & Opus Versante Hotel, Richmond, BC.
The Ombrae panel system installed by @KeithPanel is incredible!!
It creates the optical illusion of river rolling over the rocks with white water action!!

Jan 17th:

The Ombrae panel system is well on its way by @KeithPanel @OmbraeStudios
This side is the River along River Road.
Creates a perfect screen for the above grade parking.

Looks great but yeah the colour is not good. Grey?! What's with the obsession and grey. And it clashes with the rest of the grey on the rest of the building

That would be green, not grey. Gah maybe that's why there are so many seafoam green windows!

From GBL Feb 28th:

https://twitter.com/GBLArchitects

Article on the building:

Quote:
...
Visually, the facility is a dazzling array of dramatic forms and textures, united by a three-storey wraparound
of perforated panels from Vancouver’s Ombrae Studios, whose composition provides pedestrians and commuters
with a shimmering appearance of waves and contrails.

...
The glass in the curtain wall system is View Glass, a high-tech ‘smart’ glass that can be lightened or darkened by room occupants
via iPad manipulation to control the amount of natural light in their individual offices.
