At least for D&M it will give them more of a retail frontage VS Hasting ridge.

Tomavo is apparently moving from their temporary location in Dieppe to the former Cine Video store on Mountain Road.

Pete's was there - a long time ago, at least 20 years.

I hope Tomavo has better luck than Avocado in PEI... they opened with a bang and went out in a blaze of rotten fruit and flies. It's hard staying in business concentrating on a single food group and from what I hear near the end if was pretty filthy in there as they didn't do a good enough job keeping up with cleaning, maintenance, etc.

Here's a photo of the current status of Mastermind Toys in the Mapleton Centre.

Signage has been added to the side of the building facing the Wheeler Blvd off ramp. The store apparently will open in mid to late September.

Does anyone know what they are doing in the following..

Old Nygard/Ardene @ Trinity.
- Looks from the outside they are combining the spaces, as it seems they've built a whole new door way in the middle.

Old Global Gym on Mapleton.

Trinity will be Hop, Skip, Jump, an indoor childrens playpark with party rooms for birthdays - apparently quite popular in Bayers Lake in Halifax.

Very popular indeed! My kids love this spot whenever we venture south to Hfx. If I had the business sense I would have opened one a few years ago. It almost as good as being licensed to print $$$, lol!!

They've actually been adding signs on all sides of MastermindToys. The exterior of the building is now virtually complete.

From Retail Talk & Share:

Opening on the corner next to Pretzel Maker - Urgence Mobile

Yet another mobile phone & accessories store. I've lost count how many of them there are at Champlain Place.

Still, it's one less vacancy at the mall, and quite frankly there are only a handful of empty storefronts at the mall (about a half dozen). Champlain Place is doing pretty well.

If you want to see a mall circling the drain, you should take a drive down to the Bangor Mall. It's a very sad sight. Macy's is gone and the other two anchors (JC Penny & Sears) are in serious trouble. At least 60% of the other storefronts in the mall are vacant. Even five years ago, Bangor Mall was bustling - sad..........

The reason why the Bangor Mall is struggling is that the Canadian Dollar is low and many eastern Canadians are spending their money in the maritimes rather than driving to Bangor to shop. I am thinking if the Canadian dollar was still strong or near par that the parking lot at the Bangor mall would be full. I can remember that we used to do 2 visits a year to Bangor once in the spring and once in the fall and now we just stay home and shop local.

As far as the mall we do need a few relevant stores to up the ante like Hollister, Journeys and a few others. And I think for Sears the Back to School and the Christmas will have a huge say if they will survive. And for Moncton to get an edge on Halifax in the retail field would be to work on getting a Premium Outlets center or even a Tagner outlets.

My family and I are a good example of that. We're usually in the US 5-6 times per year, including camping, Christmas and back to school shopping. The last time we were down was for Black Friday in Bangor last fall. The mall was busy then, but there were a few empty storefronts then as well.

The dollar is a little better, but we still have no plans to go there anytime soon.

New restaurant Called Pur & Simple Restaurant opening soon at the former Big League Burger location on Mountain Road. This is from their Facebook page. It appears to be a breakfast and lunch restaurant.

I wonder how long it will take them to get a Dieppe Franchise location Since they have both Moncton, and Dieppe on there Franchise page.
