I’ve had some bad experiences with Swiss Chalet in the past, so I would say I prefer St.Hubert. Their chicken is nothing special though. I like Benny & Co better, plus it’s cheaper. (They recently started opening restaurants in Ontario)

Did Shit Chalet rip-off Chalet BBQ or was it the other way around? I might have to try it if I find myself in Montreal post-covid!

Shit chalet ripped it off. A bunch of former employees set up Shit Chalet. Notice how it never was successful in Quebec? Quebecois know great chicken.

Yes, Shit Chalet is not a thing in Quebec as it serves up some of the most lousy chicken on the planet. The only thing worse is the family oriented cornfest advertising of old.

Family (and lousy chicken) happens at Swiss Chalet!

Probably set you back $110 to feed your family there. Their 1/4 chicken dinners are less than half the size of what you'd get for a better price at Chalet BBQ on Sherbrooke Ouest in Montreal.

Will keep in mind . I call the place Squab Chalet!

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
In culinary terminology, squab is a young domestic pigeon, typically under four weeks old, or its meat. The meat is widely described as tasting like dark chicken. The term is probably of Scandinavian origin; the Swedish word skvabb means "loose, fat flesh".

Timely article: https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5570089

It’s mostly specific to Polo Park in Winnipeg but applies to all Canadian malls.

Mall REITs in the US are reporting rental collection rates. It ain't pretty.

https://www.spglobal.com/marketintel...rdest-58680010

There will be lots of malls that won't survive this.

Ottawa radio is funny. They announce their St. Hubert locations but don't mention any place in Gatineau. Like the radio waves end at the Ottawa river.

I remember calling into a radio contest in Ottawa one time, and was the magic caller number 7 (or whatever it was).

Guy said "Uh are you calling from Quebec?"

"Er... yes"

"Sorry, you are not eligible"

*click*

Just listen to any radio station in Ottawa and they will never have a Quebecer on their contest line. INTERDIT.

It's nothing personal harls, Quebec has very strict laws in the area and most organizations don't want to go to the necessary lengths to allow residents of Quebec to participate.

I know.

I won tickets to this Great Big Sea concert in 2008 in Ottawa because I called from a 613 number from work. If I called with an 819 number they'd tell me, "Sorry you are not eligible".

Consider yourself lucky, at least you didn't have to endure the Great Big Sea .

They are to folk music what NickelBack is to rock! Bland, boring, cliche, and most importantly overplayed and wretched .
