Oh wow the edges look completely awesome when painted white! The balconies look like they have round instead of square edges now!

^ Yeah, I think I have been converted to the "painting is better" crowd on this tower. Without it, there is just too much going on visually.

Glad that's not my job -- I'm sure I would have started right by the door and ended up painting myself out to the very corner of one of those tapered balconies.

I really am digging the paint on this one! Its making it look so clean and seem so sharp in contrast to all the other buildings and the sky!

Observation from videos posted from YoChicago on youtube: Does anyone think people will really ride down x number of floors in an elevator then walk through a hotel lobby with stuff to barbecue? Seems a bit odd to me, but I also do not live in a skyscraper. On a secondary note I think the PM and the lady were about to get into a fight about 4 different times during the videos, awkward/funny.

With a little luck, they'll still be producing paint in the future.

^ Most of Chicago's painted high-rises have weathered very well over time (in terms of paint durability). But they do tend to get a bit dirty and dingy, like any building.

I remember when The Sterling was built, before the beige boxes ruined River North, Blair Kamin wrote something to this effect: "The designers wisely chose beige over white because white buildings in the city always get dirty over time anyway." I thought, sure, let's build our buildings with broken windows and missing bricks too.

Actually it was longer lasting when it contained lead back then.

^^^ Wow, looks even better from above! I am still amazed at how quickly this building is moving upwards, looks like it should start breaking out of the skyline soon!

Welcome to the, um, light side. The exposed concrete betrays the purity of the repetition of Aqua's balconies.

I have to agree with Jibba, brilliant shot hydrogen I also like it better painted. Soon it will catch up to its next door neighbour
