Finally something tangible to freshen up the banality of complexe desjardins and vicinity.

Have you ever tried to explain feelings ? I "love" it becauce of the three different towers and the hotel. The entire complex is simply stunning from my point of view.

However, the latest renovations on René-Lévesque are not really nice -once again it's a very emotional point of view.

Just had a party to go to, and I passed in front, so I thought "might as well".

^ nice find. I like how the CRCHUM neatly fills out the skyline from this angle. Probably the only angle from which it doesn't look too cheap, too.

This is from Jan. 15, but it's a good angle.

I've noticed the CRCHUM has garnered quite the amount of criticism on SSP, SSC and malekurb, and I quite agree with it. It has some reminiscent flares of the palais de justice. But I also like how it is a beacon of something in the middle of nothingness. I also believe the building will be vindicated once its sister towers of the CHUM are also completed.

The outline may be reminiscent of the palais de justice, but the mineral monolith looks miles better than this giant lump corrugated iron, especially when viewed from the river/old Mtl. I've never been bothered by the giant blind walls of the palais either.
Hopefully you're right that the main CHUM building will improve things.

Anyway, back to the Marriott. This one is turning out very nicely, thankfully.

Probably the best view from the river of the V we've seen!
